As Dumb as Google

As dumb as Google.

A new proverb for the new decade.

No end of troubles with Google and all its services.

Google search is fake and doesn't work - throws up thousands of irrelevant results with the intent of keeping you searching forever (and consuming their ads) rather than letting you find anything.

Blogger AdSense integration doesn't work, lots of bugs, some idiotic goings-on with regard to their so-called "policies" with no sign of resolution

And youtube is also a giant Wojcicky (or whoever) turd.

Here is a happy New Year to Google in 2020.

MiG-25

Here is a MiG-25 in a town somewhere North of Moscow that I visited last summer.

A monument to the MiG-25.

The fastest and highest-altitude jet fighter in the world.

As of 2019, it remains the fastest mass-produced manned aircraft in operational service.

I believe, it is capable of outrunning all known air-to-air and maybe even ground-to-air missiles.

One of the few aircraft that was almost entirely made of stainless steel.

Tank Engine 9P-742

Here is a monument in Dubna, somewhere in Russia, a tank engine.

A former workhorse tank engine of the type 0-3-0, the 9P-742 gifted to the city of Dubna by Russia's Railway Ministry in 2010.

A tank locomotive or tank engine is a steam locomotive that carries its water in one or more on-board water tanks, instead of a more traditional tender. A tank engine may also have a bunker (or oil tank) to hold fuel.

Spotted...cars in Moscow: Tupolev Tu-104

[Correction: this is not a Tu-104, it's a Tu-124, a smaller version].

Here is a Tupolev Tu-104 displayed at entry to the bridge over the river Volga at Kimry, somewhere in Russia.

Per wikipedia, The Tupolev Tu-104 was a twinjet medium-range narrow-body turbojet-powered Soviet airliner.

It was the second to enter in regular service and was the only jetliner operating in the world from 1956 to 1958 when Boeing finally came up with its first flying contraption of a jetliner.

In 1957, Czechoslovak Airlines – ČSA, (now Czech Airlines) became the first airline in the world to fly a route exclusively with jet airliners, using the Tu-104A variant between Prague and Moscow. In civil service, the Tu-104 carried over 90 million passengers with Aeroflot (then the world's largest airline), and a lesser number with ČSA.

Here is the Striped Train (3rd Trainset), one of the Moscow Metro's trains named and decorated to commemorate or highlight an event or issue.

The Striped Train is the third striped trainset and highlights Amur tiger preservation I think.

It was spotted and ridden on on November 11, 2019.

Elon Musk: Man Who Pollutes

'Man who polluted heavens': Astronomers furious over Musk's Starlink satellites clouding their vision — RT World News

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk seeks to make the world happy with his Starlink project providing satellite Internet access. So far, he only managed to make astronomers across the world upset by rendering their telescopes blind.
The billionaire who also positions himself as philanthropist and innovator has recently set himself a goal of bringing high speed internet to the most remote corners of the earth with a network of thousands of small satellites he plans to put on the low-earth orbit. The ambitious plan involves sending a whopping 12,000 devices into space to form a satellite constellation as part of the project Starlink.
That is not the final number, though, as SpaceX has entered into negotiations with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) reportedly seeking to get permission to fly another 30,000 Starlink satellites, bringing their total number to 42,000. That is roughly 20 times more than the number of operational satellites currently in orbit.

Thanks, Elon
